When there isn't enough food at home, everything else becomes harder: concentrating at school, holding down a job, staying well. Soup kitchens and feeding programmes fill that gap every day, and they often become far more than a meal: a place of safety, routine and belonging. I photograph the people who make it happen and the people they serve, with dignity first.
